Feature Me Friday- Crafty's Creations

When Cori isnt having auctions to help a friend from high school so he can get his meds after surgery, or running around with her 2 little boys, Zach 6 and Justing 4 months, or riding the bus ,taking pictures of drunk people on the way to work, she is crocheting up a storm!

5 Questions with the artist

1. What / who inspires you?

So many things & people inspire me!    If I had to choose ONE, it would have to be Kelly Donovan of Knitting and Things . She motivates me to branch out & truly FLY with my ideas!

2.what made you get in to crocheting?
I was in a craft store one day & saw a kit to teach kids how to crochet. Thought, "If it can teach kids, it surely could teach me!" That year, my ex boyfriend's family was doing "handmade gifts", so I crocheted his cousin a huge blanket with chenille yarn. The hardest project EVAH! ;)

3.what are your favorite things to crochet?
I love crocheting small things. I have a short attention span. It's a side effect of being Bipolar. LOL But, my favorite item that I make is my Bling Rings! They're VERY popular!

4.what else do you make?
I make jewelry (crochet & beaded), quilling, candles, soap, bath salts... Anything really that I see & say, "I could make that, I'm not buying it" :)

5. plans for the future?
After my husband gets out of school he said I can stay home & work on my "crafty career". I'd love to own a small boutique & sit all day & make stuff, talk to people about making stuff & selling my creations!

words of wisdom
Stop defining yourself. Don't accept any [self limiting] thought that begins "I am this or that." You are not this or that. You are beyond definition, and therefore any attempt to say "I am X" is wrong. You are in passage. You are in the process of redefining yourself every day. Aid that process, and you cannot help but leap forward on the path.

She is her husband's band, L.H.AW ( life has a way) personal photographer.

She has taken wonderful pictures of weddings and animals.. below are just a few of Freckled Foto's work.

5 questions with the Artist

1. What / who inspires you?
I come from a family of artists, my dad that can take a picture of scenery or anything and oil paint it onto canvas, my mom is so crafty and among other things make the best crocheted washcloths, my older brother that builds and paints the most awesome model cars, airplanes that I have ever seen, my sister with her beautiful handwriting, my 2nd older brother draws and also builds/paints models and plays guitar, my little brother that is also a photographer and a pencil artist. And last but not least my husband who is the best Bass player I know encourages me to keep taking pictures.
So I am inspired all the way around, and when I look outside I see plenty of beauty and then last but not least the ones I have photographed and to see their faces with the finished product is priceless.

2. what made you get in to photography?
I wanted to have another hobby besides making jewelry and also I needed a nice camera to take photos of my jewelry.

3. what is your favorite thing to photograph? people, animals, buildings, etc.
I really don't have a favorite, I enjoy photographing everything that I have done so far, my next thing is newborns here soon.

The ocean, a view from a hot air balloon, wild animals, a sporting event, there are so many things.

My New Years resolutions

Happy New Year Everyone!!

I always seem to abandon my resolutions. They aren't hard to keep , I just get a tad lazy, lol.
This year I have set only a few resolutions, the usual weight lose, like everyone else. I really hope I will be successful. Dont worry I will not annoy you with my progress blogs.
The next involves my family. I miss the closeness. With my mother being sick (  Glioblastoma Multiforme Brain Cancer ) I believe we should all be there for each other, though it seems to me that not every one seems to have the concern about her health as I, my stepdad , my brother and nephews do. It makes me mad at times. But I cant worry about that. I want to spend more time with my nephews... they will be 17 and 15 this March. Where did the time go.
As with any business owner , I wish to make my tiny business as successful as it can be. Let the creativeness flow easily.
And last but not  least... my last resolution is my faith. I will be  bring the Lord more into my life because it seems I may need him alot more this year.
